About Pakistan International Airlines
Pakistan International Airline commonly known by its short for PIA is a state-owned flag-carrier airline of Pakistan. It is directly controlled by the administration of the Aviation Secretary of Pakistan. the primary and main hub of this national airline is Jinnah International Airport of Karachi City, meanwhile, Islamabad International Airport and Allama Iqbal International airport of Lahore are secondary hubs. PIA was established as Orient Airways in Calcutta, British India on October 29, 1946, but later on, after the independence of Pakistan, it was undertaken by the Pakistani government. The airline was then nationalized and merged with the newly formed PIA in 1955 and Pakistan International Airlines Corporation was formed. The first international flight taken by this airway was to London connecting through Cairo and Rome. PIA is known as the first-ever Asian Airline that uses the jet aircraft Boeing 707 in commercial services. PIA took its passengers to more than 56 destinations including both domestic and international with a fleet size of 32 aircraft.
